As mentioned above, the grant particularly relates to the project of improving and rehabilitating the home, that is, work related to energy renovation. It thus applies to insulation, heating, domestic hot water, and electricity.
The scheme subsidizes two types of projects, namely major works and small home improvement works.
Let’s take the first category, which concerns houses in poor condition. The purpose of the work is to make them compliant with the habitability standards established by French law.
As for the second, it concerns energy renovation of the home including thermal insulation or attic insulation, facade refurbishment, installation of double-glazed windows, and replacement of the heating system.
Whether it is the first or the second type of project, the goal is to make the house energy efficient. Thanks to Anah, there is no need to wonder if you can insulate an exterior wall yourself. The work can be financed by the public organization.
It should be noted that carrying out an energy audit is also covered by Anah’s aids. It is worth mentioning that the issues of the new energy performance diagnosis have been applicable since July 2021.
What are the conditions to benefit from ANAH aids?
Like other funding, there are criteria to meet to be eligible for Anah subsidies. Among the general conditions, the building or apartment concerned must be at least 15 years old. This house must also be your main residence.
Besides that, before submitting the file, the work must not have started yet. The budget allocated to the project must be at least 1,500 euros excluding tax.
It is imperative to entrust it to building companies that are RGE certified or Recognized as Environmentally Responsible.
It should be recalled that the work particularly concerns energy renovation. So if you plan to change the interior or exterior decoration of your house, do not waste your time applying for Anah aids. The same applies for an extension project or new construction.
Besides these details, beneficiaries of the scheme must not have benefited from the zero-interest loan or PTZ in the last 5 years. After the work, they must commit to living in the home for at least 6 years.

What is the difference between my Renov grant and Anah?
When interested in the funding program related to energy renovation, one has likely already heard of Ma Prime Renov and l’Anah. Although these aids are closely linked, there are still differences.
L’Anah is defined as a public institution offering numerous financial aids intended for energy renovation. The agency offers Ma Prime Renov to landlords as well as owner-occupiers.
There are also other schemes such as Ma Prime Renov Sérénité, which is reserved for owners wishing to carry out a bundle of works.
Since the creation of Ma Prime Renov in January 2020, this subsidy was only dedicated to French households with very modest incomes.
But since October 2020, the Anah scheme has been offered to all owners, whether occupants or landlords. The subtlety lies only in the calculation and amount of the grant.
How to put together an Anah file?
